Thanks for the Christmas Jumper Switzerland...

As popular today as they ever were...
Switzerland has given the World many wonderful things. Those little knives the Swiss Army use in battle, the 1960s woollies that kept skiers warm in the snow and Muesli. Which one is best? Well, you decide...

Up to 85 tools
First supplied to the Swiss Army in 1891 this elaborate cutlery originally had only four gadgets tucked away in its wooden barrel:  A blade, screwdriver, can opener and a punch. The original knives were used by officers and were known as the Swiss Officers Knife. Shortened to the "Swiss Army Knife" by the Americans after the second World War today there's one with a ludicrous eighty five tools.

What do Bill Crosby, Chevy Chase, Alan Partridge and Colin Firth have in common?  Yes, you guessed it, they all found it cool to be uncool wearing an eye-wateringly  hideous Christmas JumperBy today's wacky standards the Swiss ski-style sweaters don't look anywhere near ugly enough now, but it was the Swiss that really set the ball rolling and for that we salute you.
Christmas Jumpers sell out quickly so get yours while you can...

The Swiss gave us muesli one of the Pillars of good eating...
Once Switzerland's national dish this nutty-seed combo is now prescribed by Drs all over the World as an effective alternative to Allbran. Not only does Swiss muesli taste good it's highly nutritious too with a single bowl full providing as much energy as three packets of cheese and onion crisps.

So there you are, its a tricky choice we know. If its any help we wouldn't really want you to fall out with the Swiss Army, or your Doctor, but on the other hand...

Father's Day Competition | Win Dad the Funniest Socks in the World

The Handy Ideas Sock or Sandal?
Father's Day Competition
For Father's Day, we thought it would be a laugh to give away a pair of our popular Sandal Socks.

At first glance, when the family are down this Father's Day, it'll look as if Dad's wearing a really naff pair of sandals. To make it worse he'll appear to be shamelessly wearing the sandals with disgracefully embarrassing knee length socks. Once everyone realises they're not really sandals and Dad's not naff after all, believe us, it'll be funny...

TO WIN DAD THE SOCK THAT THINKS IT'S A SANDAL JUST LIKE & SHARE OUR FACEBOOK PAGE OR FOLLOW & RT ON TWITTER

The lucky winner will be announced on Friday 13th June.

From us all at Handy Ideas, good Luck everyone...

The Handy Top 5 Reading Gadgets

World's Top 50 Books
Our reading gadgets are some of the most popular with customers at Handy Ideas so we thought it would be fun to compile a Top 5...

Let's kick-off with  No. 5 a bookmark that, by listing the 50 books to read before you die, is a pretty good read in itself   Bronte's Jane Eyre is one of the 50 literary gems on the list. Orwell's 1984 is another and Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath makes three. You want to know the others now don't you?  Great fun and a nice little stocking filler this Christmas for just £3.95.

A friend to keep your page...

No.4 we've gone to the other bookmark extreme. Not one listing the literary greats this time, but a little man that perches just where you want him and keeping your page for you. We love this novelty bookmark. £6.95.

Sneaks in anywhere...
At No.3 is the Blink Light that reaches those hard to get that places other lights just can't. With it's flexible stem you can morph it into virtually any shape you like. It simpy fits anywhere. On the bed head, edge of the desk, kitchen table - even the toilet cistern (only joking). The Blink light is one of the best light gadgets we've ever seen and for an unbelievable £6.95.

Read in the dark tiny clip-on light...
Our runner-up reading gadget this year is another clever little light, but this one isn't flexible at all.  It just pops on the top of your book and lights up your page just right.

No. 2 is the The award winning Really Tiny Clip-on Light. It might be small, but it's powerful and amazingly another Handy Ideas top gadget for under a tenner. Only £7.95.

So, what's the Handy Ideas favourite reading gadget for 2013?
Award winning 38K word Bookmark...

Our No. 1 this year is the 38,000 word electronic dictionary that's so thin it can double up as a bookmark. With The Electronic Dictionary Bookmark, wherever you're reading, you can easily look up that elusive word. Reading in bed, on the beach, or on your lunch break at work, there's no more scurrying off to the bookshelf - or worse, reading on and missing out every time you bump into a word you're not sure about.

With our Handy Ideas No. 1 reading gadget for 2013 you'll have words literally at your fingertips.

We hope you enjoyed reading our latest Handy Top 5 gadgets and we'll see you all again soon with another.
