Thanks for the Christmas Jumper Switzerland...

As popular today as they ever were... 
Switzerland has given the World many wonderful things. Those little knives the Swiss Army use in battle, the 1960s woollies that kept skiers warm in the snow and Muesli. Which one is best? Well, you decide...

First supplied to the Swiss Army in 1891 this elaborate cutlery originally had only four gadgets tucked away in its wooden barrel:  A blade, screwdriver, can opener and a punch. The original knives were used by officers and were known as the Swiss Officers Knife. Shortened to the "Swiss Army Knife" by the Americans after the second World War today there's one with a ludicrous eighty five tools.

What do Bill Crosby, Chevy Chase, Alan Partridge and Colin Firth have in common?  Yes, you guessed it, they all found it cool to be uncool wearing an eye-wateringly  hideous Christmas JumperBy today's wacky standards the Swiss ski-style sweaters don't look anywhere near ugly enough now, but it was the Swiss that really set the ball rolling and for that we salute you.

The Swiss gave us muesli one of the Pillars of good eating...
Once Switzerland's national dish this nutty-seed combo is now prescribed by Drs all over the World as an effective alternative to Allbran. Not only does Swiss muesli taste good it's highly nutritious too with a single bowl full providing as much energy as three packets of cheese and onion crisps.

So there you are, its a tricky choice we know. If its any help we wouldn't really want you to fall out with the Swiss Army, or your Doctor, but on the other hand...
